What centKoala is

centKoala helps Australians track spending, split household expenses, compare supermarket specials, and discover partner offers. The centKoala mobile app (iOS and Android) is our primary product. This website provides product information, invite links, and a public deals storefront.

Retailers and networks

We participate in affiliate programs that may include, among others:

• Amazon Associates Australia — product links to amazon.com.au
• eBay Partner Network — product links to ebay.com.au
• Commission Factory and other AU retailer programs — e.g. JB Hi-Fi, The Good Guys, Harvey Norman

Retailer names and logos are trademarks of their respective owners. centKoala is not endorsed by these retailers.

How affiliate links work

When you tap “Shop” or a product card on centkoala.com/deals or in the centKoala app, you are sent through our affiliate exit gateway before reaching the retailer:

• Your browser or app opens a centKoala API redirect URL (/api/v1/exit?token=…).
• The gateway verifies the request, logs an anonymous click identifier, and redirects you to the retailer.
• For Amazon links, our Associates store ID is appended as the tag query parameter on amazon.com.au.
• An additional tracking sub-tag (ascsubtag) may be included for internal attribution only — it does not contain personal information.

We do not place personally identifiable information in outbound affiliate URLs. Commission is paid by the retailer according to each network’s terms when a qualifying purchase is completed after a valid tagged click.

Website vs mobile app

• Website: centkoala.com/deals — public, crawlable deal cards with retailer labels and outbound shop links.
• Mobile app: Deals Market tab — affiliate partner offers, supermarket comparisons, and tech wishlist price checks. Links use the same exit gateway pattern.

Editorial independence

Affiliate relationships do not determine which products appear in grocery comparison results. Amazon offers in the app are shown only when they meet our deal-quality rules (e.g. Prime-fulfilled, in stock, classified as a deal). Sponsored placements on the deals storefront are labelled with the retailer name (e.g. “Amazon”, “eBay”).

Prices and availability

Prices shown on centkoala.com/deals are refreshed from our catalogue but may change at the retailer before checkout. Always confirm the final price on the retailer’s website. centKoala is not responsible for third-party pricing or stock.
